Sandalwood logs are cleaned, soaked, and chopped into small pieces. These are placed in deg vessels with water and gently heated. The steam carrying sandalwood oil passes into a vessel containing base oil. Over hours, the pure essence is absorbed into the oil. This slow, repeated distillation using fresh wood ensures that the attar is rich, smooth, and true to the sacred aroma of sandalwood.
